It was downloadable from here before, but something something payment processors hitting itch.io hard, and this got removed for a while. I personally wasn't expecting even this much to still be here after it got taken down.
Heyo, I was wondering if you could add a Hard Mode where excitement and "lives" don't reset each level, and a game over requires you to start from level 1 again. Would be cool. Hoping to see the game on Itch again soon!
We do plan on adding something like that at the end yes! We also have plans and ideas for an infinite level, or a level where you can pick which enemies should spawn yourself!
Yoo, glad to hear. Both of those sound like they'll be a great addition to the game. On the topic of adding things, have you guys looked into adding a mimic chest and/or a quicksand trap to the game? I do think both would work well with the theme.
the older versions were nice, kind of sucks that the newer updates to the game are locked behind Patreon, but its probably for the best for MANY reasons.
It is kind of annoying, considering I paid 15 dollars on this website to support it and they're asking for another 18 a month for me to get newer ones :/
That being said I really enjoy the game and it takes a lot of effort to make so I can understand them needing some actual income to keep working on it. I don't blame T-Hoodie, I blame the world we live in where they can't get actual funding from this site or others to make the game.
I really appreciate the support guys, please understand we really are working something out at the moment. The free version of Max the Elf will hopefully return on Itch when ready. Sorry for the current technical difficulty.
I appreciate your work, I'd honestly support the patreon if I had the money for it. Once the game is finally released I'd be more than happy to pay for it, to help support some more. I just can't commit to a subscription. Again keep up the good work!
i wish you the best! when all this drama started and games were falling off platforms like flies and i came to my library to check its integrity to see 2 games had been removed and this was one of them.. and imo for an incredibly stupid reason.. "real people" yeah where are they itch admins?
anyway im glad to see this game back on itch and i'll be waiting patiently for the time the next version will be available for me :> (if v5.13 means its been 10 updates since v5.03 (last available version) then ill have plenty of stuff to "explore" lol)
The art/animations are drawn in a pretty small resolution, so zooming in will indeed reveal some pixelation. Sorry but there's not really a way to fix it, none of my art is made with vectors or rigging.
Thank you! I'm not sure I understand your question. We're working on implementing the new movement animations for Max, and we plan to release that update in September on Patreon for testing first.
If things work out and we're happy with the fixes and potential bug-fixes as well, we will probably be ready to release an update in October on Itch. Sorry for the delay, there are some things we that have priority this month.

There's a mimic hoodie in level4, that was my take on a mimic enemy haha. I can consider other traps as well, I'll have to think a bit more about it.

If i may ask, what is the main platform Max is aimed to be released on?
Is it itch? and do you plan on adding it to Steam?
Please please add a difficulty level where Max is caged in chastity... no more Xing out of a tight spot :D
I'd like a difficulty system as well, but i'm not a fan of cages, so please keep it separate or as an option in settings, if it will be added that is

How do you fix bad graphics when you zoom with 'C'? It looks very pixelated, especially when the game is in full screen

5.13 is only available on Patreon. The public/free version of MtE is on v5.03.
